Playful chic was the name of the game at Kinder Aggugini, as the designer sent printed overall

dresses and gingham button-ups down the runway on freckled models. Despite the youthful feeling, the clothes are far from childish. The clashing block-printed blouses would look at home in Alexa Chung’s closet, while the tailored jackets worn over them managed to be refined, ladylike, and still fun.
Aguggini says the collection was inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s “The Old Man and The Sea”. The zany prints and faded naval colors were a charmingly casual take on fisherman style, yet not one navy striped tee was among them. The models’ hand-painted T-strap clogs rounded out the atmosphere of relaxed freshness, as did totes in a mix of gingham and nautical print. Finishing out with two striking tentacle-print evening gowns, the collection wasn’t just cohesive, it was utterly appealing.
