Los Angeles started to prepare for Carmageddon II--a 10-mile closure of both directions of the I-405 over the Sepulveda Pass, scheduled to begin Friday night--early this morning. It will be impossible to drive across the Mulholland Drive Bridge this weekend. The demolition of the north side of the bridge is scheduled to start on Saturday. The Mulholland Drive Bridge will be the third bridge demolished and reconstructed to widen the I-405 freeway.

Neon Tommy took some live shots Friday morning from the Kiewit Construction Yard on the northeast side of the Mulholland Drive Bridge.
