While the majority of women are focusing on the upcoming fall fashions, Rachel Zoe showcased her Spring 2013 Collection at New York Fashion Week this past Wednesday. Again, Zoe proved herself as a serious and talented designer with her sophisticated and fresh collection. The collection is somewhat inconsistent although very alluring with its fine accessorial details. It is as though there are five mini collections all on one runway.

A crisp white suit matched with black stilettos and a black brimmed hat began the much-anticipated collection.  The six beginning looks were all black and white, yet varied in shape and silhouette. The black and white scheme ranged from retro dresses to timeless suits finished with exquisite black belts.

The collection then evolved from timeless suit lady to modern, LA- chic chick. The color scheme changed to lighter and more neutral colors such as beige, brown, deep turquoise, yellow, and green.  Many of these sparkling sets included less dress types and much more shorts, pants, and rompers with busy patterns. Many outfits were bright, yet somewhat calm to enhance the effortless look. Striped jump suits made a statement in this portion of the show without being too overbearing to the rest of the outfit. In a way, the stripes added a feminine feel to the outfit. One of the coveted looks consisted of green shorts paired with brown heels and a silver, gold, and turquoise sequined blouse. The ensemble included a black luggage shaped purse and oversized retro sunglasses. It was impeccably contemporary and refined for a night out on the town.

Throughout the collection, it seemed to sporadically change to safari-inspired sets with busy animal prints and straw-like hats. Theses looks seemed to be the bohemian portion of the show and very broken up from the rest of the show.

But once the show resumed back to the rest of the collection, it reverted to soft colors and lady-like cuts. Shiny fabrics, silks, and maxi-fitted dresses seem to take spring to a whole other level of glamour. Don’t worry ladies; maxi dresses won’t be going out of style anytime soon! From turquoise, gold, white, and brown sequins, these were just a few of the colors Zoe decided to create in this elegant style.

Zoe wrappeed up the show by returning to her black and white ways. Rather than producing black and white suits, she concluded the show with glamorous sequined dresses particularly detailed with simple gold accessories and chunky heels. Overall, Zoe did a wonderful job with incorporating class and modern vibes. The clothes fit the women’s body great, but in a very graceful way. She has created a new world of modern for the everyday women with trousers and bright colors. Although women await boots and trench coats, if it in any case disappoints, then at least there’s always hope for next spring!
