Angry protesters stormed the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo on Tuesday, according to CNN. They tore down the American flag to protest a film thought to insult the Prophet Mohammed. Diplomatic personnel were evacuated from the compound,  as Egyptian police and the army formed defensive lines around the facility to prevent protesters from advancing. U.S. Embassy officials have warned Americans in Egypt to avoid demonstrations in front of the Embassy or Egyptian government buildings.
