It’s a clash of the music titans—American Idol’s newest judges, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, are reportedly already feuding as they critique auditions for the talent show’s upcoming 11th season.

Keeping true to their diva images, the pair argued during the first round of judging and constantly spoke over each other, according to BET.  While they tried to mask their distaste for one another, it was obvious that the two aren’t the best of friends.  Despite Carey telling the Hollywood Reporter that working with Minaj will be “an experience that unfolds each day,” both of the Idol newbies insist there is no brewing feud or hard feelings.

“American Idol” is no stranger to feuding judges; take ex-employees Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, for example.  Perhaps the drama between Minaj and Carey will revive Idol’s falling ratings. The competition show, once highly successful, is now working overtime to compete with its thriving, much buzzed about “X Factor” and “The Voice” rivals.  However, “American Idol” once again has revamped its panel of judges, welcoming a new lineup of surprisingly A-List musicians, adding Keith Urban alongside Minaj and Carey.
