Congratulations ladies! Peplum is still is style!

This season at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week, Monique Lhuillier stuck to her forte by showcasing luxurious feminine eveningwear with a touch of aqua. Instead of the usual lace and tulle layering, the outfits featured a more streamlined and structured look.

Tops and dresses cinched at the waist were common, hence the comment about peplum. The colors that dominated this ocean-themed collection were no doubt blues and whites, with a few reds and golds. A variety of prints like koi and fish added to the aquatic look and models wore slicked back hair and blue-toned makeup.

The most striking feature of the collection was that it used an outlandish theme yet incorporated the traditional aspects of ready-to-wear. The styling of every outfit, from the hair and makeup by Kérastase Paris and MAC respectively to the elegant fabrics and design, is such that it can be carried by women of all ages. This collection is expected to be a big hit on red carpets across the world.
