Rapper Nicki Minaj and country singer Keith Urban are joining the judging panel on American Idol this year.

Fox announced Sunday that the two would join Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson, reports The Daily Beast.

The official announcement that Minaj and Urban would be joining the panel was made Sunday, but speculation that the two would join started much earlier.

In July, it was announced that Carey would join the panel, reports USA Today.

There was some speculation that Jackson would return to the show's 12th season in a mentor role, but he has now been confirmed as a judge. The popular singing competition has had a four-person judging panel once before with Jackson, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi.
