Villaraigosa At DNC: "Republicans Gave Hollywood A Run For Their Money"
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa spoke at the Democratic National Convention Thursday about his support of President Barack Obama.
He spoke regarding his desire to keep the right to marriage equal and how the Republicans were deceiving the American people.
"When it came to entertainment and tall tales, the Republicans gave Hollywood a run for their money," said Villaraigosa, who also quoted the Romney campaign pollster that claimed the campaign would "not be run by fact checkers."
The L.A. Mayor then spoke of the president's support of women's health, immigrants, welfare, and the middle class, highlighting a stark difference between President Obama's policies and that of Mitt Romney.
One of the strongest messages Villaraigosa highlighted was Obama's support of the DREAM Act, and the mayor went on to speak of his success as a student of affirmative action and his mayorship.
"We in L.A. know that communities are stronger through their diversity," he said.
