Los Angeles City Council gadfly John Walsh said that he tried to tell officials about the anti-Islam film that has become the centerpiece of international anti-American protests in Muslim countries, according to Talking Points Memo.

In June, Walsh spoke at the L.A. City Council about an earlier version of the film that was going to be shown at a theater in Hollywood.

Walsh wrote on his blog about posters he saw promoting two screenings that were set for June 30th.

The screenings were apparently cancelled by the theater's manager.
