iPhone 5 Has Record Sales
Apple Inc. said that more than two million preorders were placed for the iPhone 5 on the first day it was available, twice as many as the previous record, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Apple's initial supply of the iPhone was exceeded with the preorders.
"The customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, in a Monday press release.
Apple said that the majority of the preorders will be delivered this Friday, which is the same day the smart phone appears in stores.
