There was plenty of Emmy love this year for "Homeland's" amazing first season. The show captured a total of six Emmy's, including Lead Actor In A Drama Series won by Damian Lewis, who plays Nicholas Brody, and Lead Actress In a Drama Series, awarded to Claire Danes, who plays Carrie Mathieson. It is great to see a compelling and smart drama on TV these days. Though after a killer season one questions like :what’s next?" or "can they repeat that same magic in season two?" are bound to pop up.

Rest assured, the season two premiere displayed that "Homeland" has not dropped the ball.  We left off last season with Carrie in desperate need of exoneration as her world fell apart around her. After losing her clearance from the CIA, as well as the respect of her peers, due to her bipolar disorder, she came to the realization that she can no longer do the job she loves. As for Nicholas Brody, he was gearing up for his bid for Congress, inspired by the encouragement of powerful Politians.

Season two picked up a few months after Carrie elected to have electroshock therapy for her bipolar disorder. This has caused her to lose her ability to memorize important details that are crucial to her well-being. It appears that she has given up her crusade against Brody, who she had once suspected of being a terrorist working for Al Qaeda. During her time off, Carrie has been leading a simple life, living with her sister trying to assess what her next move will be. She is brought back to the CIA by an informant’s request. As for Brody - life has been anything but simple. Despite his failed attempt to detonate a bomb meant to kill the Vice President, he has become a Congressman. On top of that, he is ironically being vetted as a potential candidate for the position of Vice President. Oh, what a few months can do.

Last season had a lot to do with finding out if Brody had been turned, as well as Carrie battling her sickness and digging for the truth. This season we have the answers to some of the big questions. Now it seems to be all about Brody as he tries to maneuver between two opposing forces, as well as his uncertainty if Carrie will pick up her crusade against him once more. One thing we can count on is that this season is sure to have tons of heart-pounding, anxiety-ridden moments that are sure to leave you with sweaty palms.

Want to join the fun? Then tune in to Homeland @ 7pm on Showtime.
