On September 21, 2012 Neon Tommy had the opportunity to visit the HBO Gifting suite in honor of the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Hosted by the Four Seasons Hotel on Doheny Drive in Los Angeles, the Luxury Lounge had a variety of different brands in attendance. Brahmin, Logitech, The James Properties, L’Oreal Paris, DL 1961, Uppababy, Pandora, Motorola, Basil Hayden, and Michael Antonio were all present during the Luxury Lounge’s gifting suite.

Brahmin was the first stop among the many different companies that participated in the event. Brahmin is based in Massachusetts and has significant New England roots. Brahmin was a word used in history to describe a cultured person from an established upper-class family. Founded in 1982, the company is dedicated to creating handbags that define timeless style. Brahmin produces classic handbags that can be found in stores such as Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Dillards. You can also find them online and shop there as well. With colors like navy, peacock, regal red, and more, Brahmin fits many different personality types and tastes. Lisa Vanderpump, Heather McDonald, and Jenny Pulos were a few celebrities who showed up to support the brand.

Logitech was the next company on Neon Tommy’s journey through the Luxury Lounge gifting suite. Logitech is a company that specializes in music products and one of their main focuses nowadays is finding easier ways to take music off of phones for simpler listening pleasure. One way they are combating this necessity for innovation is through the use of Bluetooth connectivity. By connecting your phone to Logitech devices via Bluetooth, you can wirelessly listen to music through speakers and even through their wired ear buds that are designed to fit comfortably over your ear. Logitech also designs lightweight, yet high quality headphones that function to enhance a listener’s musical experience. These headphones are also designed to fold down for a simpler way to travel with and transport them. Edie Falco was present to support the brand.

The James booth was our next stop. The James Properties is a brand of luxury hotels that are devoted to providing hand crafted design, intuitive service, and personalized comfort. With properties in Chicago, South Beach, and New York, The James is focused on expanding their brand awareness as well as their locations.

L’Oreal Paris was a great stop for Neon Tommy as they had an entire wall devoted to showcasing their vegan hair products. These products not only protect your hair, but also heal it. When it comes to their facial products, such as their vast array of mascaras and eyeliners L’Oreal Paris prides itself in creating the highest quality beauty products with the latest in technology for the ultimate luxurious experience for any woman “because you’re worth it.” Becca Tobin showed her support for L’Oreal Paris at the gifting suite.

DL 1961 was an interesting company as well. Based in New York, the company’s main focus is creating pants that do not stretch out, but instead mold to the shape of your body and stay that way even through wash cycles. These four-way stretch jeans come in a variety of different styles such as the Emma fit and hipster wash for women. However, the brand just launched its Men’s line last fall. With styles named after humans, there are choices that speak to males with names that mirror those of humans. Brian, Tyler, Nick, Russell, Vince, and Jack make up the names of the different styles of jeans in the Men’s section. With attributes corresponding to each name such as skinny, super slim, classic, slim straight, straight, and boot cut, there is sure to be a style to fit any man. Joanne Froggatt was present at the booth’s gifting.

UPPAbaby was another brand that Neon Tommy was able to visit. Based on the east coast UPPAbaby specializes in making high quality, all natural bassinette strollers. With shock and suspension options, UPPAbaby designs amazing strollers that are compact, yet sturdy. These strollers also have an additional bonus: the stand when folded down, which is incredibly convenient for storage and portability. UPPAbaby has strollers that range from $140-$700 in price, depending on which features most speak to new mothers and fathers.

Pandora is a Danish company based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Specializing in producing jewelry such as rings and necklaces, Pandora is most known for its modern charm bracelet. One of the reasons the company is so well known for this piece is because of their option to build your own charm bracelet. You are able to choose between a variety of different bracelet options such as sterling silver, oxidized silver, and hand-woven macramé. From there you can choose from their abundance of charms and faceted glass ornaments to decorate your bracelet.

Motorola capitalized on their opportunity to showcase their new Razr M phone. With the choice of white or black, the phone’s backing is made up of Kevlar and guerrilla glass, making your phone scratch resistant. The Razr M also integrates the wildly popular Google Chrome as its primary search engine and about 20 hours of phone usage, one can use the 8 mega-pixel camera with HD display and panoramic views to take beautifully detailed photos. Motorola also showcased their new S-11 HD headphones, which are sweat resistant. Following the Logitech focus, these headphones also connect through Bluetooth directly to your phone in order to eliminate the use of wires, making running, walking, or working out much simpler for the user.

Basil Hayden’s surprised us with their light-bodied bourbon at the next booth. The Kentucky-based company produces 80 proof bourbon whiskey, which contains a large amount of rye compared to its competition and sibling brands of higher alcohol concentrated beverages such as Knob Creek, Booker’s, and Baker’s. Basil Hayden’s actually had the pleasure of working directly with HBO to produce drinks using their whiskey that corresponded and represented the personalities of the different HBO shows. The Bees Knees was their Boardwalk Empire drink, while Dragon Dance corresponded with Game Of Thrones, Running Mate matched up with Veep, and their Stop and Sip Julep was descriptive of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Basil Hayden’s representatives were kind enough to give us a sample of their bourbon whiskey, which goes great with some ginger ale and basil. Perry Reeves showed up to the display to show support.

Last, but not least, Neon Tommy made a stop at Michael Antonio, a California based footwear company dedicated to making 100% vegan shoes. The environmentally conscious company also deserves recognition for the fact that they use 80% of recycled materials for their packaging as well. Just coming out of being featured in 9 different shows in New York’s Fashion Week, Neon Tommy thinks that the brand is doing quite well for itself. Let’s not forget that Michael Antonio was also featured in a W118 by Walter Baker fashion show as well. We think the brand is going to go quite far considering that its vegan attributes have no effect on the texture or quality of its products.
