Green Day's new album, ¡Uno!, hits stores next week on September 25. (UrbanicaMX)

Teaming up once again with producer Rob Cavallo (this will be his fifth Green Day record), "¡Uno!" is the band's first studio album in three years and it doesn't disappoint.

For longtime Green Day fans, listening to this album will be a nostalgic experience as they will be strongly reminded of "Kerplunk" (1992) and "Dookie" (1994), albums that first made Green Day a household name.

Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool go back to good old light-hearted pop punk as opposed to their last two records, "American Idiot" (2004) and "21st Century Breakdown" (2009), which were both rock opera concept albums laden with political anti-authority messages.

This shift is reflected in the single, "Oh Love," the music video of which you can watch below. There is no story or message in the video, nor is there any sort of agenda behind the lyrics. It's just Green Day jamming with a bunch of scantily clad women and enjoying themselves.

"Nuclear Family" kicks the album off right away with fast-paced instrumentals and the band doesn't slow down for one second in the 42-minute long record.

Filled with great guitar and bass solos, Green Day shows off its punk influences in these twelve songs—names like the Ramones, The Clash, and Cheap Trick all come to mind while listening to "¡Uno!".

The band embraces its punk roots with songs like "Stay the Night," but also explores new paths on tracks like "Kill the DJ," a song that lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong calls "a four-on-the-floor rhythm" and "dance music."

Being in the music industry for over twenty years, Green Day knows that they've reached the point where they can do whatever they want. As Armstrong told Rolling Stone, "People get so caught up in not trying to do something new and creative: 'Let's just put out an EP.' We said, 'Let's do the exact opposite, something dangerous and fun.'"

With an end product like this, fans are sure to be glad that Green Day did just that.

Already receiving rave reviews from critics, "¡Uno!" won't fail to have you bobbing your head along to the music and wanting more by the time the last track is done. Luckily, fans won't have to wait another three years - "¡Uno!" is the first of three albums in the ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! trilogy that will be released in the next few months. "¡Dos!" will be released later this year on November 13 and "¡Tré!" will be released on January 15, 2013.
