John Carr, a branch manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Fairfax, Virginia, could care less that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney chose Fairfax as a stop in his campaign trail. The majority of Virginians, especially in Fairfax tend to lean towards Romney, while a few closer to Washington D.C. support President Barack Obama, according to Carr.

“I feel like Romney has the right to do whatever he likes. I’ve made my mind up already, so it doesn’t really affect me. I just know he is making a big push in Virginia,” Carr said.

Romney’s speech focused both on strengthening the nation's military and economy and avoided the controversy regarding his criticism of President Obama’s response to events in Libya and Egypt.  During one part of his speech, Romney said, “With 23 million Americans out of work…I would have expected that when the President gave his address at the convention a couple weeks ago, he would have spoken about the unemployed but he didn’t. I expected him to talk about a plan, to get people back to work.” Carr disagrees, ”I feel like the President’s ideas for jobs and creations maybe slow in working but it is working. For Carr, the problem with Romney goes beyond the economy and the military and into “his (Romney’s) stance on social issues.”

Carr remembers the moment he became a supporter of “Four More Years”.  “Him (President Obama) coming out and supporting gay marriage was a big tipping point for me. I am a big fan of his support for gay marriage it’s an issue close to my friends and family. “

For Carr, Romney’s visit was just another busy normal day at work.
