With the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards soon approaching, eager viewers are already making guesses as to who will walk away with the big awards of the night. Packed with comedic skits, entertaining performances, and moving acceptance speeches, the annual Emmy Awards is a star-studded event all fanatic TV viewers won't want to miss. Prepare yourselves for another night of surprises by checking out some of the most memorable moments of the Emmys in past years!
#1. Glee Opening Number
Host Jimmy Fallon joins the cast of Glee for the opening sketch of the 2010 Emmy Awards! Performing Bruce Springsteen's "Born To Run," Fallon and the cast put on an entertaining musical number with hilarious cameos from Betty White, Tina Fey, Jon Hamm and more.
#2. Melissa McCarthy wins the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series
A beauty pageant at the Emmys? As Melissa McCarthy was crowned the most Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work in "Mike & Molly," the first-time Emmy winner was presented with a tiara, bouquet of roses, and congratulatory hugs from fellow nominees.
#3. George Clooney joins Modern Family
The cast of Modern Family come together to talk about ways to improve the show. The solution? George Clooney. Watch as Clooney and even Stewie from Family Guy make appearances in this short comedy skit!
#4. The Office Skit
The 2011 Emmy Awards included another star-studded comedy act with this hilarious rendition of The Office. Alongside The Office cast, Tracy Morgan, Kim Kardashian, and Ashton Kutcher are just a few of many celebrity cameos.
#5. The "Modern Family Awards"
The Emmy Awards were jokingly deemed the "Modern Family Awards" by host Jane Lynch in 2011 for the show's numerous wins that night. The highly praised hit series and talented cast dominated the awards in categories such as Outstanding Supporting Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Comedy Series.
