Emma Watson is well-known for her character as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series. Watson is no stranger to lights, camera, and action! She was cast in the series at the age of nine, and before “Harry Potter,” she owned the stage in school plays. Watson, along with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, has made a generation out of Harry Potter films.

What raised Emma Watson to complete stardom was the Harry Potter film series, which was based on the novels by J.K. Rowling. From the time the first Harry Potter film “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (2001) was released to the time her last Harry Potter film “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” (2011) was released, Watson was, and still is, a superhero for young girls around the world.

Watson made movie industry history as “Harry Potter” became a lucrative global brand.  The films consistently held the number one place at the box office. For instance, the first film was the highest-grossing film of 2001, defeating “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace” in breaking the single-day record.  Following this film, just about every other film succeeded in its form.

Besides the films becoming mega-successes, the actress herself became critically acclaimed, winning ten awards and being nominated a total of 23 times. As a child actor, Watson won the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress for her performance in “Sorcerer’s Stone,” and received an Otto Award from the German magazine Bravo for her performance in the same movie.

Watson grew up in front of our eyes, similar to many child actors.  However, unlike many actors of her generation, she is making a successful transition into an adult actress, which can be a struggle for many child actors. Watson is well-rounded within the realm of Hollywood, continuing to be a top actress while striving to pursue a higher education.

Furthermore, Watson unveiled a new look as the Harry Potter film series came to a close. She chopped off her locks for a pixie hairstyle and emerged as a fashion icon. The actress possesses a natural sensuality that is neither overt nor shadowed. She is a fresh face from the toxic and saturated celebrities.

Watson has appeared in films since her Harry Potter days.  She was featured in her first animated film, “The Tale of Despereaux” (2008), where she was Princess Pea.  She also played a wardrobe assistant named Lucy in Simon’s Curtis “My Week With Marilyn” (2011).  She is currently filming her upcoming project “The Bling Ring” (2013), which is based on a group of Hollywood wannabes stealing from actual Hollywood celebrities. Her latest film “The Perks of a Wallflower” comes out September 21, 2012, in which she has the starring role.  Emma Watson has evolved from Harry’s side kick and is showing us that she is a young and hot actress to be reckoned with.  We salute you Ms. Watson.
