Twice a month, Neon Tommy's music editor rounds up the upcoming live music performances in the Los Angeles area. Here's what's in town for the rest of September:

September 25

Beach House @ the Wiltern
Few bands can sound as sonically sleepy as Beach House and still pull off such critical acclaim. Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally are in town for two nights at the Wiltern; if you dig their dreamy blend of pop and rock, there's probably no better place to see them than at the gorgeous Wiltern. Justin Wong is supporting. Tickets are available here.

Dragonette @ the El Rey Theatre
These feisty Canadians may be known most for their collaboration with French DJ Martin Solveig, "Hello," but their own material is a madcap mixture of punky electro and singsongy vocals, courtesy of singer Martina Sorbara. Perhaps their tunes will shake the chandeliers at the El Rey? Frank + Derol are supporting. Tickets are available here.

September 26

Dispatch @ the House of Blues Sunset Strip
Roots rock band Dispatch was supposed to be done with the whole making music/touring thing back in 2002, but luckily for fans of the band, they've been having a hard time staying kaput. A year after their first European tour, the band's touring around the States, and will be making a stop at the historic House of Blues. Tickets are available here.

The Killers @ the Fonda Theatre
While the Fonda might seem like a strange venue for the stadium rock ready Killers, the venue's lurid decor (blown up prints of Bosch paintings) is actually the perfect backdrop for many of the band's new tunes off of their album "Battle Born." Romanticism and bombast come to a head in Brandon Flowers' and co.'s music, so it should be interesting to hear that sound in such an intimate venue. Tickets are available here.

September 29

Rise Against @ the Honda Center
Punk rock's hey day is over, but if there's any band that's updating the genre these days, it's Rise Against. The Chicago rockers bring their lively set to Anaheim in a show presented by radio station KROQ. The Gaslight Anthem and Hot Water Music support. Tickets are available here.

September 30

Go Fest @ the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
Country superstar Jason Aldean is joined by Luke Bryan and Dee Jay Silver at this year's Go Fest, a country music showcase put on by the folks behind Go Country 105. Tickets for the show are sold out, but for more information about the festival and the radio station in general, visit their website here.

Wilco @ the Hollywood Bowl
Arguably one of the best alt bands of all time, Wilco bring their gorgeously rendered song book to quite possibly the most epic venue in the area, the Hollywood Bowl. Pack a picnic basket and grab some of your closest friends--if there's any show that might just be perfect for the not-quite-cooled-down Los Angeles autumn, it's this one. Joanna Newsom is supporting. Tickets are available here.
