FPAC 2012 Bridges Generations Of Pilipinos
In it’s 21st year, the Festival of Pilipino Arts and Culture, commonly known as FPAC, bridges generations of Filipinos in America through music, art, food and performance. One of the highlights of this year's event in San Pedro included Apl.de.Ap from the Black Eyed-Peas who was joined on stage by Dante Basco (“Rufio” from the film Hook) and YouTube sensation KevJumba.
As the younger generation gathered around the main stage, phones raised high and Instagram ready, the elderly gathered at the “Senior Village” booth to showcase their prized pumpkin squash and gourds. This year FPAC featured over 50 acts, two main stages and various vendor booths and food trucks for the public to enjoy.
FilAM Arts, the organization behind FPAC is an L.A. based non-profit working on year-long programming of historical and modern Pilipino culture. FPAC draws thousands of people each year from all over California to celebrate what it means to be Pilipino.
