Isabel Marant’s romanticized Americana aesthetic reigned again this season, this time in the form of Hawaiian floral and rustic prairie prints.

Marant’s feather light playsuits and breezy peasant tops leaned more towards vacation-wear, especially for places like her implied destinations of Vegas and Hawaii (it must have been Elvis, crooning in the background). Mini sarongs and short shorts made a comeback, and seemed as if they could give any girl legs for days.

Adding to the Vegas vibe were chunky crystals, studs, and embroidery that embellished almost everything—shirts, skirts, belts, shoes, shorts. The flared and embroidered pants, however, were particularly nostalgic in more than one way: not only did it rework the bellbottom, it served as the revival of 1997 – 2000, the prime years of Generation Y embroidered denim.

Marant also took a step in the practical direction: complementing the pieces on her prairie and Vegas girls were chunky mid-heel gladiator sandals in basic neutrals, giving hope to the tired and achy feet of the stiletto-clad.
