NBC announced the first three hosts of “Saturday Night Live’s” 38th season Wednesday. Seth MacFarlane will host the season premiere followed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Daniel Craig. Frank Ocean, Mumford & Sons and Muse will also appear as musical guests.

The new season is sure to have a different atmosphere and vibe without veterans Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Abby Elliott. Nonetheless, NBC continues to hunt for funny, talented hosts for the new season, which is likely to have plenty of political commentary.

If NBC is having trouble finding fresh faces, we have a few suggestions. Take a look at three former hosts we would love to see return.

1. Melissa McCarthy

“Mike & Molly” and “Bridesmaids” star Melissa McCarthy made her “SNL” debut last season with a hilarious song and dance opening monologue. The actress’ most memorable skit was her role as Linda, an eager focus group participant for Hidden Valley Ranch.

2. Justin Timberlake

Does the pop singer need an explanation? Between his signature “SNL” digital shorts (Dick In A Box), dancing skills (Beyonce’s “Single Ladies") or special cameos (In Bronx Beat or as Bon Iver), Justin always provides entertainment and laughs. We can only hope the former boy band member will surprise fans with another appearance this season.

3. Taylor Swift

All the way back in 2009, Taylor Swift hosted what one Entertainment Weekly critic hailed as the best episode of the season. Between her impersonations of Kate Gosselin and Shakira, as well as the unbelievably clever opening monologue (sorry Joe Jonas), Taylor’s night brought more laughs than many people expected. With a new album out this fall, Taylor may need some press. Paging “SNL.”

Honorable Mentions: NBC veterans including Jimmy Fallon, Maya Rudolph and Tina Fey

According to the Huffington Post, Andy's contract was up and he was satisfied with everything he accomplished on the show. He won't rule out making another appearance on future seasons though.
