What Happens At The RNC Today?

Mitt Romney's wife, Ann, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie headline the list of speakers Tuesday night at the Republican National Convention.
They'll be speaking after convention delegates vote on rule changes and officially nominate the Romney-Ryan ticket. Ann Romney and Christie are both expected to speak shortly after 7 p.m. PDT.
Christie, well-liked in many circles of the party, is known for being blunt and abrasive. But in a rarity, he'll be using a teleprompter Tuesday night to keep on track.
"It’s Christie’s chance to have voters across the country see him as more than a Sopranos look-alike who recently got into a shouting match over ice cream on the Jersey Shore," the New York Daily News wrote.
“The funniest thing of all is that Stuart Stevens, who wears his shirts inside out, is advising me on what dress I should wear tonight,” she told reporters on the plane, referring to the campaign’s senior adviser. She had thought “it was going to be like my wedding dress” where her husband would not see it until the event itself, only to learn that is not how modern conventions work.
As Tropical Storm Isaac nears Louisiana and Mississippi via the Gulf of Mexico, political experts say Christie might have to tone down his rhetoric to fit a more somber mood.

Ann is charged with offering a biography of Mitt. She'll speak in front of a larger crowd than she has ever spoken to. She'll use a teleprompter. And she'll wear a dress her husband and his advisers helped select.
“The funniest thing of all is that (Romney adviser) Stuart Stevens, who wears his shirts inside out, is advising me on what dress I should wear tonight,” she told reporters.
