TEED's Totally Enormous Show At The Echo

Playing in front of hundreds of Angelenos, the eccentric Orlando Higginbottom stepped on stage at 11pm to perform an electronic disco-dance set dressed as a bling-bling dinosaur. This British tyrannosaurus had the bodies of a transcended crowd moving for an hour and a half.
TEED gathered a playful audience, including batch of free-spirited youngsters banging their head, wearing dinosaur costumes.
After an upbeat 10-minute introduction to open the show, TEED's fans screamed their joy as they recognized one of his biggest hits, "Stronger." Higginbottom started singing live over the synth-pop melody, dragging people into a foggy dream lit by a disco ball.
One track after the other, TEED kept feeding the spectators' urge to dance to his feel-good music, which was nuanced by subtle melancholic sounds, triggering a slight nostalgia each time a song went by.
If "Stronger" deserved a big wave of hands up in the air, "Tapes & Money" shook the entire venue. This last track revealed this new enthusiasm for dance music as people completely let themselves go on these swinging beats.
Sponsored by FYF Fest, TEED's show was a great illustration of the many talents emerging from the indie-electro scene of the U.K. In his mid-20s now, Higginbottom was raised by an Oxford University music professor and born with a keyboard in his hands. He's now an expert at sparkling the sound of synthesizers, which defines part of his music genre.
Discovered by Joe Goddard from Hot Chip, TEED released a series of EPs with the label Greco-Roman such as "All In One Sixty Dancehalls," and is now finally signed to major label Polydor. His new album "Trouble" has been available on iTunes since June 12, 2012.
TEED's constant sound innovation highlights his distinct potential as a music producer and a capability of creating hit after hit. His mixes of electronic disco, '90s pop and electric modern beats successfully unite the European underground music freaks and many American mainstream lovers on a quest for something new.

Playing his first solo show in Los Angeles, TEED couldn't end the night quite yet. His second stop at La Cita for a 45-minute DJ set drew all of the Echo to Downtown for some extra dance moves.
If his set was sadly shorten to a half-hour performance for technical reasons, TEED's fan base still praised a refreshing talent to the West Coast sound wave.
