Finishing his gaffe-filled foreign tour in Poland Tuesday may come as something of a relief for presumptive Republican candidate Mitt Romney.

Reuters reported Romney tried to save face in an interview with Fox News, downplaying such offenses as his remark that the British were ill-prepared to host the Olympics, as well as his suggestion Palestinians were in some ways inferior to Israelis.

The Republican said media coverage of the slip-ups was distracting from the "substance" of his trip. One of his aides, Rick Gorka, made things a little worse during a visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw, when he told reporters shouting questions to "shove it."

According to Reuters, Romney's performance abroad has made it easy for the Obama camp to note he may not be prepared for the commander-in-chief role.

The deficiency makes finding a stellar VP running mate that much more crucial. Perhaps in an effort to shift attention away from Romney's deficiencies, his campaign announced Tuesday smartphone users would be the first to find out his pick, according to the Los Angeles Times. Promising to unveil "America's comeback team," the app on Apple and Android devices will also help voters find state-specific information and updates on volunteer events.
