It’s a goooooo for Joss Whedon and “The Avengers” fans. Whedon’s been signed back on to direct and write the sequel to May’s box office smash hit. (Slashfilm)

M.I.A. caused quite a stir when she, er, saluted America during Madonna’s halftime show performance, but she’s getting back into the swing of releases with a new album out this December. No word on the name yet, but it’ll feature her hit “Bad Girls.” (Billboard)

In more music news, Mumford and Sons are coming off of “Sigh No More” (and Marcus Mumford’s marriage to Carey Mulligan) with a new song, “I Will Wait.” (HuffPo Ents)
