Clint Eastwood’s speech on Thursday at the Republican National Convention in Florida appears to have overshadowed Mitt Romney’s actual acceptance speech.

According to The Washington Post, Twitter was ablaze with comments mocking the Oscar-winning director of films like “Unforgiven” and “Million Dollar Baby” over his “kooky, long-winded conversation with an imaginary President Barack Obama.”

Eastwood criticized Obama for failing to deliver on his promises such as closing the U.S. prison at Guantanamo and bringing troops home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Eastwood was the surprise guest speaker at the RNC on Thursday. Ann Romney said she appreciates Eastwood’s support and did not know what to expect when he appeared on stage.

“He’s a unique guy and he did a unique thing last night,” she said to “CBS This Morning.”
