UN Fails To Reach Arms Trade Treaty Agreement

The United Nations failed to reach a consensus this Friday on an arms trade treaty, pushing the creation of a treaty off until at least the end of the year.

According to The Guardian, British foreign secretary William Hague expressed disappointment over the failure of the arms trade treaty, which needed a unanimous vote forward in order to pass. 

The representatives of over 170 nations had been meeting in New York City for the past month discussing the arms trade treaty, but the meeting adjourned as the delegates arrived at no conclusive decision.
