GE Lands First U.S. Business With Myanmar

For the first time in nearly half a century, U.S. companies can make new business deals in Myanmar, and GE is the first U.S. company to dip its toes in the country.
According to Reuters, the company is intially investing $2 million in the country in the form of hospital equipment, and other companies are following GE's lead. All this comes on the heels of President Obama's announcement last Wednesday easing sanctions on Myanmar, as the country's new government continues to pursue economic development.
