Clashes Continue In Syria Between Rebels And Government Supporters

Violence reached Aleppo on Saturday after Damascus was struck with fresh attacks. Hundreds of civilians began to flee residential districts after the military reached a district held by rebels.

U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon decided to send peacekeeping chief Herve Ladsous and military adviser Babacar Gaye to Syria.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 240 people were killed on Friday; combined with the casualties from today, the death toll is now 550.
Damascus is now isolated by tanks, which continue to attack neighborhoods in the city. In Aleppo, rebels clashed with troops. Aleppo has been a stronghold for loyalty to Assad, and as such has largely been spared from the violence, until now.
