Organizers for October's CicLAvia have pushed the bicycle awareness event back one week to Oct. 7 to make way for the space shuttle Endeavour's arrival at the California Science Center in Exposition Park.

The city plans to have the space shuttle travel 10 miles along LA's streets from LAX to its new Exposition Park home on Oct. 14, according to Curbed Los Angeles. Along with the date change to accommodate the shuttle's trip through LA comes a slightly altered route for the bike event.

October's CicLAvia festival will feature a route traveling south on Figueroa Street before stopping at the University of Southern California at Expo Park, according to LA Streets  Blog. The 9.1-mile route centered in downtown also includes bike paths to East LA, Chinatown and MacArthur Park.

The streets will open to bicyclists, pedestrians and other non-motorized road users from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Oct. 7.
