Tonight, the stars got their chance to collect awards for their acting chops at the MTV Movie Awards. Now, I'm granting premier prizes to not only the most enviable outfits on the red carpet, but also the ones that should probably never have seen the light of day.  To those who fall in the latter group, there’s always next year, folks!

Let’s start with the worst dressed so we can end on a high note, shall we?

Brooke Hogan

Oh, Brooke.  Miss Hogan was a hot mess on the Red Carpet. I reckon she may have single-handedly killed the “cutout” look that has so pervaded the fashion world of late in her over-the-top, glitterati, Jovani mini-dress.  Absolutely, utterly migraine-inducing.

Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough looks flawless 99% of the time, but a girl can’t get it right every time. Her black lace Sally Lapoint frock was unflattering and much too tight.  And despite the fact that Hough has rock-hard abs, the dress’s high cutout revealed her upper torso in an inexplicably awkward manner. Truly a shame!

Elizabeth Banks gets props for audacity, but really, what was she thinking??  I wouldn’t be surprised if an acute arachnophobe somewhere out there had to change the channel upon seeing the actress all decked out in a webbed jumpsuit that is fit for the King of all tarantulas.

The world may not be black and white, but Emma Stone’s two-toned Martin Grant dress sure left me with no doubt that she is one of the classiest, best dressed actresses out there.  The best part?  Her darling pointed shoes were also black and white, making for a match made in fashion heaven.

Charlize Theron rocked a fire-engine red peplum Lanvin number.  Simple, but sexy. No fuss, no muss. Seriouly, thank you, Charlize!  The world could afford to take a cue from her simple, understated elegance.  (Hint, hint, Brooke Hogan).

As if I weren’t already convinced that Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum are not real human beings, tonight sealed the deal.  Alone, they are beautiful individuals.  Together, they are that perfect, intangible couple you wistfully pin to your “Love” board on Pinterest late at night. (Come on, I know you do it too). Dewan wore a plunging Lublow dress that accented her tan, while the handsome Tatum stood by his woman in a sports coat and dressy-casual jeans.
