British Prime Minister Leaves Behind His 8-Year-Old At A Pub
British Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife's mishap— forgetting their 8-year-old daughter at a pub on Sunday afternoon — has the rest of the UK murmuring about the couple's parenting skills.
The Associated Press reported that though they were only separated about 15 minutes from their daughter (whom they realized was missing upon returning home), the news has put the Camerons in the hot seat as some say they should have kept a closer eye on her while others say it was a mistake that can be "easily done." Since the couple drove in separate cars, they presumed the 8-year-old was with the other.
The incident has also highlighted differences in security measures between the U.S. and UK. While U.S. Secret Service agents are constantly patrolling the president's immediate family, in Britain, it is common to see the prime minister and his family shopping on the weekends; however, Cameron's office told the Associated Press that there "are security arrangements in place for the prime minister's family." The Camerons have three children.
The Daily Mail reported that an internal police report is underway to determine how the child got left behind.
