Pakistan Prime Minister Pushed Out
The Court found in April Gilani had not followed through on orders to investigate alleged corruption by President Asif Ali Zardari. Gilani's Pakistan People's Party has acknowledged that he is "no longer the prime minister," according to the Associated Press.
The decision is further evidence of a rift between Pakistan's government and judiciary, and adds to concerns about stability. One political analyst said it will likely mean a halt in progress with U.S. relations.
