On Wednesday, Norway's health directorate approved a plan to build a special psychiatric ward inside Oslo's Ila Prison in order to house a single inmate, Anders Behring Breivik.

Breivik has been held at Ila prison since his arrest on July 22 after single-handedly bombing government buildings in Oslo and opening fire indiscriminately at a youth meeting of the Labour Party later that day. Breivik was arrested the same day of the attacks and admitted to committing both attacks. Since his arrest, he has been evaluated by mutilple experts to determine his mental state and whether or not he is criminally insane.  He is expected to spend the next few decades in prision, regardless of how the evaluations pan out.

Back in May, Norway also made news by announcing they would be hiring "friends" to keep Brievik company since he was deemed to dangerous to be around other inmates. These professional "friends" would keep Breivik company, play chess with him and even play indoor hockey.
