Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is reported to be "clinically dead" according to the Egyptian state news agency. Mubarak's lawyer, however, has denied the report.

According to the report, Mubarak suffered a stroke and faded in and out of conciousness while incarcerated in a Cairo prison.

He was serving a life term for his part in the deaths of hundreds of protestors during the 2011 revolt which ended his dictatorship. He was 84 years old.
