A USA TODAY/Gallup Poll showed Latinos strongly backing President Obama, who is leading Romney 66 to 25 percent in the hotly-contested demographic. The poll surveyed more than 1,000 registered Latino voters from April 16 to May 31, before Obama announced he would halt the deportation of an estimated 800,000 young Latinos who were brought to the United States as children.

Romney, however, has less support from Latino voters than any presidential candidate since 1996. His popularity with Latin voters may very well dive even further if the Supreme Court releases its rulling on the controversial Arizona immigration law, SB 1070, as expected next week. Romney defended states' rights to enforce their own border laws in the GOP presidential debates.
