Former News International Chief Executive Rebekah Brooks should know whether she will face further charges in regards to allegations of hiding phone-hacking evidence from the police and illegal payments to public officials by August.

The Guardian reports that Brooks arrived at the Southwark crown court in central London Friday and is on bail until September 26, a date set by Justice Fulford for a plea hearing.

Brooks, a confidant of Rupert Murdoch, and her husband Charlie Brooks, and four others have been charged with perverting the court of justice. She is accused of “conspiring to conceal documents, computers and electronic equipment from police and conspiring to remove seven boxes of material from the archive of News International.”
