Commerce Secretary John Bryson Resigns
"I have concluded that the seizure I suffered on June 9 could be a distraction from my performance as secretary and that our country would be better served by a change in leadership of the Department," Mr. Bryson said in a memo to President Obama that was released on Thursday.
Bryson has been on leave since June 11, two days after he suffered a seizure and crashed into several different cars in separate incidents. He is under investigation for felony hit-and-run. Deputy Secretary Rebecca Blank will serve as acting secretary.
