Democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991. She gave her acceptance speech Saturday in Oslo, Norway.

Suu Kyi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts in promoting peace and democracy in Burma, also known as Myanmar, but had been kept under house arrest as a prisoner of conscience.
