Though sizzling temperatures are expected to remain on just one tip of the thermometer over the next few months, the season’s hottest color trends are set to span all ends of the color spectrum.

Both brights and pastels are being welcomed with open arms, making it all the more effortless to rock fashion-forward ensembles this summer.

You can't go wrong with vivid neons right now. Electric and cobalt blue, bright yellow, emerald green, aquamarine, hot pink and orange (tangerine in particular) are all the rage, and can be incorporated into any outfit to impart a little spring in your step. Everything from shoes to dresses to handbags are popping up in neon shades.

For those of you that generally like to play on the safer side, try segueing into this flashy fad by picking just one bright piece to complement an outfit. The more adventurous fashion follower should try out the season’s color-blocking trend by pairing bold, solid colors together to create a dramatic contrast on simpler, streamlined pieces.

Check out this colorblock designer dress for a sophisticated take on the trend. And guys, you can wear this style too! Why not try out these funky all-American swim shorts from Asos? Just be sure not to go overboard so as not to end up looking like an ad for Crayola!

Spring’s pastels aren’t letting those brazen brights completely take over their time in the sun; these soft hues are still all over the place this summer.

Shorts and pants are the most popular way to sit pretty in pastels this season. Grab a pair in light lavender, baby blue, peachy pink, mint green, or a creamy neutral tone to achieve an easy, refreshing look.Fun floral print is also a popular way to sport these lovely hues.

Pick up a pair of hip high-waisted floral shorts or jeans such as this budget-friendly pair from Forever 21 on your next shopping excursion for an instant style upgrade.

With both brights and pastels, solids and prints on the forefront, it looks like committing a fashion faux pas this summer would be near-impossible. So get out there- your sunny, trendy summer begins now!
