Fashion Fighting Famine will host its fifth-annual summer fashion show at the University of California, Irvine's Pacific Ballroom on Sunday, June 3rd. The large-scale event features the hottest trends in Muslim fashion while revitalizing the fashion industry with gorgeous abayas and kaftans in brilliant colors. Summery, flowing styles such as these are at the current peak of style, and with a portion of the proceeds going to One Laptop Per Child, become even more irresistable.

One Laptop Per Child is a non-profit organization that aims to provide children all over the world with educational tools. It has built a laptop made to fully operate in the most remote regions of the world. Each laptop contains software that continually updates, in order to provide a proper educational tool for children in developing countries. The organization currently serves 2 million children all over the world.

This year's event is scheduled to take place from 4-10pm at UCI's Pacific Ballroom. The show is expected to attract over 1,000 attendees with its line-up of this year's most buzzed-about designers in American Muslim couture. This year's designers include: Rana Greiche Couture, SixteenR, Vela Scarves, Marena Y Sol (whose looks are featured in this article), Hijabista and Mohajababes.

After the fashion show, guests will have the opportunity to purchase items in the "Shop for a Cause" bazaar, that will feature items seen on the runway, as well as other high-end products from local businesses. Stay tuned for Neon Tommy's coverage of the event!
