After 17 years together, the "Good Day LA" morning news family said farewell to longtime entertainment anchor Dorothy Lucey Friday morning.

KTTV Los Angeles, or the FOX 11 News, recently announced major shakeups to the morning show, which airs 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. Lucey's contract would not be renewed while weather and lifestyle anchor Jillian Reynolds would move to freelance making room for her to do other projects outside Fox. Many cite lower ratings as the cause of the changes.

"I'm just a lucky girl that got to sit here and say ridiculous things about her life and other people's lives for all these years," Lucey said Friday morning as she battled to hold back "ugly tears."

In the final minutes of the show’s broadcast, a video aired showing Lucey and the team throughout the years. Memorable moments filled the screen including Lucey meeting George Clooney and Simon Cowell.

Before the video, meteorologist and traffic reporter Rick Dickert gave Lucey once last view of the ocean, a place they both frequently visit. Dickert went on to thank Lucey for all she has done for him.

“Every time I ran into you, you flashed that beautiful smile of yours and you always told me, ‘you do such a great job up there Rick.’ You always said so many wonderful things that helped my confidence and helped me as a professional grow and I’m so blessed and thankful for that," Dickert said.

On Thursday, Edwards admitted he found out about the shakeups through a Deadline Hollywood article that first broke the news.

In response to an article from the Los Angeles Times that mentioned Reynold’s past negative comments about Lucey on the Howard Stern Show, Reynolds delivered a tearful apology on the air Thursday.

I’m sorry for the stupid things I’ve ever said in the past and know that I love you and have always respected you…You’re a class act and I could take some pointers,” Reynolds later joked.

The show will now hold on-air tryouts for the vacant chair, similar to “Live With Kelly.”

Lucey hopes to continue working with her church, her charity work with the Good News Foundation and maybe more TV in the future.
