DEFENSE KEEPS ROLLING: Though the scoreboard for 11-on-11s showed that the offense had the upper hand, the defense continued its dominance in spring ball. During practice, the defense intercepted Trojan quarterbacks four times, including two off starting quarterback Matt Barkley.

LEE, ROBEY, MCDONALD BEST OF SPRING: To not much surprise, USC coach Lane Kiffin called Marqise Lee, Nickell Robey and T.J. McDonald the most consistent players in spring practice. “[Lee] missed a couple of balls the other day on Saturday,” Kiffin said, “but really he’s being dominant in almost everything. SECOND-STRING QB UNDECIDED: Kiffin praised the ability of quarterbacks Max Wittek and Cody Kessler but was non-committal about necessarily naming a starter soon after Saturday’s spring game. Here’s part two of Kiffin’s presser:

BLACKWELL, FLOURNOY FLOURISHING: With the tight ends largely banged up and Robert Woods out for spring practice’s entirety, wideouts Victor Blackwell and De’Von Flournoy have stepped up. “I had my best spring so far as a Trojan,” Flournoy said, “but we have summer coming up, we have to stay healthy and fall camp is right around the corner.
