A CNN/ORC International poll released Monday shows President Barack Obama leading Mitt Romney in the polls by 9 points.

Obama is also favored by female voters by around 16 points. The poll was conducted two days after the Hilary Rosen/ Ann Romney controversy began. It is unclear if this will effect how likely women are to vote for Romney.

The poll showed that Americans saw Obama as more likeable than Romney, reports The Daily Beast.

Surprisingly, the poll showed that most Americans are undecided on who can best help the U.S. economy.

If the election were held today, 52 percent of voters would vote for Obama and 43 percent for Romney, according to CNN.

Many of those polled said Obama is more likely than Romney to stand up for what he believes in. Nearly half of those polled said Romney would change his position on an issue for political reasons.

The poll also showed that Obama had a 20-point lead over Romney among those earning less than $50,000 per year.

Around two-thirds of those involved in the poll said they have already made up their mind. Only 29 percent said they could change their mind between now and November, according to CNN.
