Lil Wayne Reveals New Album "Devol" On Its Way
The word spells “Loved” backwards and showcases the many songs about love that he wrote while serving his time in prison. Devol was a side project that he had been working on.
“I was also recording an album at the same time called Devol, spelled D-E-V-O-L ‘cause that’s ‘Loved’ spelled backwards,” Wayne said. “And it’s my version of love songs. And what I mean by my version of love songs is meaning they’re not saying I love you. It’s all material I did when I was locked up.”
Before the "Lollipop" rapper can release this love album, he will have to drop the long-awaited "I Am Not a Human Being Part 2" album this summer, according to Young Money president Mack Main.
It was also revealed that Weezy re-signed on to Cash Money Records under a 4-album deal, showing his loyalty to the record label.
“Everybody knows I came into the game at 11 years old with Cash Money Records, before we even had a major deal,” he said. “We signed a deal in I don’t remember when, and I been with Cash Money ever since. So if you’re looking for integrity, I am the definition. If you’re looking for a person that’s gonna stay down, I am the definition. If you’re looking for loyalty, I am just that.”
With "Tha Carter IV" last summer, "I Am Not a Human Being Part 2" this summer, and his new side project "Devol," Lil Wayne has a lot in store for his fans.
