"How I Met Your Mother" Recap: Now We're Even
Barney spends the entire episode raving about how his girlfriend is a stripper (which apparently means he wins at life). He also makes Ted run around every night trying to make every moment legendary and a day to remember. Ted, on the other hand, has his own plans and has slowly settled into the hum drum of being single and living alone and likes to spend his night at home eating cereal naked just because he can. Because being the 30 something year old men with the maturity levels of teenage boys, of course the first thing Ted would want to do in an empty apartment is walk around naked all the time.
Turns out, the reason Barney is acting all crazy and high strung is because he hates the thought of Quinn with any other man and every night from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., that's all he can think about. Finally seeing Barney as an emotional, sappy love-struck boy is refreshing. Crossing your fingers that Quinn and Barney get married!
Ted being the good friend that he is, decides to humor Barney to make him feel better about the Quinn situation. Barney claims to be winning at the game of life based on a point system he invented, and he is currently beating Ted by 500 points because he managed to get a girl's phone number while wearing a dress. If Ted wants to catchup he has to do the same, and though he wants to spend another night at home by himself, he does this for Barney, which finally explains the picture of Ted in the green dress.
After landing her job as co-anchor, all Robin wants is to be famous. She's frustrated when people at her own office don't recognize her even after they see her face on the wall everyday. While on assignment in a helicopter, the pilot she is with has a stroke and she has to pilot an emergency landing. All eyes are on her as New York watches her successfully land the plane and become an overnight celebrity.
Barney's finally in love again, Robin's career is blossoming, and Ted's doing what he does best; being a good friend. Oh, and Lily has a weird sex dream about Ranjeet the limo driver which makes Marshall jealous, but all that really does is remind us that Lily is still pregnant and going to have a baby at any point now.
All of this makes it bearable that Ted is single and still no where near finding his future wife.
