The Cannes Film Festival announced the official lineup for this year’s event. Featuring many festival veterans as well as a few newcomers, the festival includes films by cult director Wes Anderson and Palme d’Or winner Michael Haneke.

Though the festival acknowledges films from around the world, this year’s lineup seems it was victim of a Hollywood takeover. Showcasing actors like Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey (who has two films up for competition) and the '"Twilight Saga" duo Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Here is a look at five star-studded films to look forward to for May.

1."Cosmopolis" - Directed by David Cronenberg
Starring "Twilight" heartthrob Robert Pattinson, "Cosmopolis" is based on the novel of the same name by Don DeLillo. Canadian director David Cronenberg directs the drama about a wealthy stock trader (Pattinson) who is stuck in limousine for a day as he tries to get across town for a haircut. Along the way, we see the character, and his career, begin to fall apart.

2. "Lawless" - Directed by John Hillcoat
Hillcoat’s film is also based on a novel, a work of the same name by Matt Bondurant. The story follows three brothers running a bootlegging business in Prohibition era Virginia. Featuring Hollywood stars Shia LeBeouf, Golden Globe winner Jessica Chastain and Gary Oldman. "Lawless" is up for competition and is one of the most anticipated films in the festival.

3. "Mud" - Directed by Jeff Nichols
Featuring Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon and actor Matthew McConaughey, "Mud" is the story of a charismatic fugitive trying to escape the law (McConaughey). Befriending a helpful teen on the way, the fugitive searches for the love of his life, played by Witherspoon. Nichols, an American, also competed at Cannes last year, with his film "Take Shelter."

4. "On the Road" - Directed by Walter Salles
Based on the classic beat novel by Jack Keroac, Walter Salles adaptation of "On the Road" stars "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart as Marylou. With appearances from Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst and Amy Adams, the film also features Sam Riley as main character Sal, and Garrett Hedlund as Dean. The much-anticipated film will face a tough crowd of Kerouac lovers and film buffs alike.

5. "The Paperboy" - Directed by Lee Daniels
Daniels film "The Paperboy" follows a reporter who must head back to his homestate of Florida to investigate a case involving a death row inmate. Based on the Peter Dexter novel, "The Paperboy" stars Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman, John Cusack and Matthew McConaughey. Lee Daniels is best known as the director of the widely acclaimed "Precious" and producer of "Monster’s Ball."
