WOODS OUT: USC All-American WR Robert Woods spoke with the media after practice Tuesday and disclosed that he will be out for the remainder of spring practice as he continues to recover from offseason ankle surgery. Head coach Lane Kiffin also addressed the topic with the media, adding Woods was healing slower than expected, and the team doctors felt it would be best to "shut him down" for the rest of spring ball.

FARMER STILL RECOVERING: Another WR suffering on the injury front is sophomore George Farmer. Farmer, who injured his hamstring in the first week of spring practice said today he was at "about 60%", and wasn't sure when he would return. One positive for Farmer, is that the injury to his hamstring was classified as a strain, which is obviously less severe than a pull or a tear.

BLACKWELL SEIZING OPPORTUNITY: With Woods and Farmer out, that means more reps for the younger receivers, one of whom is Victor Blackwell. Blackwell has been praised a handful of times so far this spring by Kiffin, and on Tuesday had several long catch and runs.

MADDEN ON THE MOVE: Tre Madden, who arrived at USC as a linebacker, got a shot on the offensive side of the ball one Tuesday. Madden worked out with the running backs, and also took reps at the position during team periods. Kiffin said it was an experimental move, a result of Madden's athleticism. It is not certain at this time if the move will be permanent, and Kiffin noted they will re-evaluate it on Sunday.
