The first teaser trailer for Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie" arrived today, and if you were worried that it wouldn't do the 1984 short justice, fret not!

The film is a story about a boy named Victor, who wants to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life. "Frankenweenie" is an obvious move from Burton to return to his roots. It feels like his older films, featuring a protagonist who is dark and a little sad, but who has the best of intentions, a la "Night Before Christmas" and "Edward Scissorhands."

We don't get much other than the basic plot from the trailer, but it's enough to determine that there will definitely be some unexpected and quirky consequences to young Victor's actions.

Frankenweenie is set for release in the fall, but Tim Burton fans also have another film to look forward to: "Dark Shadows," which comes out May 11.
