Toulouse Gunman's Brother Charged
An antiterrorist judge said Abdelkader Merah, 29, may have helped plan the shootings and is being charged with complicity in murder. He is also being charged with theft for helping his brother, Mohamed, reports The Daily Beast.
Mohamaed was killed in a shootout with police Thursday when he jumped out a window. This happened after a 32-hour siege of his apartment in Toulouse.
During the standoff, he admitted to killing three soldiers in two separate incidents and killing three children and a teacher at a Jewish school in the city last Monday.
Abdelkader has denied accusations of his involvement, but has admitted to being with his brother when he stole a scooter used in the attacks.
Prosecutors told the BBC that he would be kept in custody.
Abdelkader was questioned years ago about possible links to a network that sent youths in the Toulouse area to Iraq, but no formal action was brought against him.
