Filmmakers, musicians and digital pioneers will gather under the Texan sun to showcase, perform, discuss and network at the 2012 South by Southwest, a film, music and interactive festival in Austin.

Austin, known as the “live music capital of the world,”comes alive with industry professionals, music performances, and red carpet premieres. Every March, the city will attract approximately 32,000 registrants for SXSW.

SXSW will host a slew of world film premieres ranging from Hollywood blockbusters to indie flicks.

"21 Jump Street," starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, just one of many anticipated films, will premiere at the Paramount Theatre on Mar. 12.

The lovable Duplass brothers (“Cyrus,” “Jeff, Who Lives at Home”) will showcase their latest film “The Do-Deca-Pentathlon” at the Alamo Ritz on Mar. 11.

SXSW music lineups feature an array of different sounds and this year is no exception. Musicians will play in churches, parks, clubs, arenas and even street corners. From American indie rock band, Gossip, to rock sensation, Bruce Springsteen, to International pop music, there is something for everyone.

The interactive portion of the festival from Mar. 9-13 will include book sign ings, panels and “SXSW Screenburn”, a forum for the video game industry.

Emily Schuman founder of the popular blog Cupcakes and Cashmere is set to host a panel, A Recipe for Success: A Blog, A Brand, A Business, where she will discuss how she turned blogging into a successful business.

Several panels at the festival will discuss the future of social media and technology.
